How to Steep
Four steps to a sweet, woody rooibos vanilla cup — caffeine-free and beautiful with milk.
2g tea
per 200ml cup
Water
Water at 100°C, full boil (for hot steep) or double strength over ice with milk (for iced rooibos latte).
Measure
2g of South African rooibos vanilla tea per 200ml cup.
Brew
Steep 6 minutes (Hot). No tannin means it cannot over-steep into bitterness; it only deepens with time.
Enjoy
Strain. Serve hot (takes milk beautifully), or steep double-strength and pour over ice with a splash of milk for a cold, creamy latte.

Does rooibos have caffeine?
No, none. Rooibos is a South African shrub, not a tea plant, and it is naturally caffeine-free from root to needle. It is also tannin-free, which is why it never turns bitter.

Can I add milk to rooibos tea?
Yes, and you should try it at least once. Rooibos is one of the very few herbals that takes milk beautifully. With warm milk it becomes a caffeine-free latte; over ice and milk it is a summer treat.
Is the vanilla real?
Yes, real vanilla, not vanillin, the synthetic imitation used in most flavoured teas. It is one of only two ingredients in the blend, so there is nowhere for shortcuts to hide.
Can children drink Fall Harvest?
It is naturally caffeine-free and gentle, which makes it a popular family cup. As with any herbal, use your judgement and your paediatrician for very young children.
How long should I steep rooibos?
Six minutes at a full boil, but the honest answer is: as long as you like. With no tannin, rooibos physically cannot turn bitter. Longer steeping only deepens the colour and body.
